Tribe says critical police funds not in budget

President Bush's fiscal year 2004 budget scales back funds for the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) program.

The program awards grants to tribes and local governments for law enforcement. The Nisqually Tribe of Washington says it relies on the funds because the Bureau of Indian Affairs doesn't provide enough money.
