Lawmakers in Minnesota have introduced a bill to allow more nuclear waste to be stored at a facility near the Prairie Island Dakota Reservation.

The tribe opposes additional storage and says a 1994 state law gives it veto authority over expansion. But Xcel Energy, the operators of the power utility, and lawmakers question what powers the tribe has.
