American Indian Movement activist Russell Means says women shouldn't try to be equal to men because men are failures at leadership.

The Albuquerque Journal reported on remarks Means made in a speech called "America Right or Wrong." He said there was much wrong with American because it is based on a patriarchal system and fear.

A matriarchal system is based on balance, he said. "There are 6,000 years of documented history that men are incapable of leadership, and they documented it," he said, as quoted by the paper.
