Cheyenne runners complete Breakout journey

FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, 2003 About 45 members of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Montana, mostly young men and boys, completed the 400-mile Breakout Memorial Run on Thursday. The run commemorates an escape by Northern Cheyenne ancestors from an Army prison in Nebraska. Many died on their way to their homeland in Montana. The run was started several years ago after remains of some of the ancestors were repatriated. Get the Story:
