Feds: Racist leader plotted to kill judge

THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 2003 The leader of a racist group that is relocating its headquarters near a reservation in Wyoming has been charged with plotting to kill a federal judge. Matthew Hale, 31, of the World Church of the Creator was taken into custody in Illinois. The judge in question is overseeing a copyright suit involving the church and Hale has accused her of bias because she is married to a Jewish man and has biracial children, The New York Times reports. Late last year, Hale announced his group was moving to Riverton, Wyoming. The town was carved out of land that was part of the Wind River Reservation. Tribal members and local officials and residents are fearing the church's move. Get the Story:
