Cody set to report to federal prison

MONDAY, JANUARY 6, 2003

Radmilla Cody, a former Miss Navajo Nation, is reporting to a federal prison today to serve 21 months for her role in a drug smuggling ring.

According to the Bureau of Prisons, Cody is "in transit." The BOP identifies Cody's race as "Black" not American Indian. Cody is an enrolled Navajo tribal member.

Cody pleaded guilty to misprision of a felony for helping an ex-boyfriend, Darrell Dwight Bellamy, sell drugs. In an agreement agreement she signed with federal prosecutors, Cody admitted that the knew about the illegal activity, failed to report it to authorities and lied to a grand jury when first confronted about it.

Cody's BOP Inmate Register Number is 08980-062.
