The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma is wrapping up work on tribal history project.

The tribe commissioned 40 granite stones to be placed on the streets of downtown Tahlequah, the tribal headquarters. The stones are engraved with historic events and names of the tribe's chiefs.

Thirty stones have been complete. The remaining 10 are left blank for future use.
