FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20, 2002

The 26th annual Lakota Nation Invitational is taking place this week in Rapid City, South Dakota, and is well known for its basketball tournament.

But there's more to it, as The Rapid City Journal reports. Many are here to attend education and housing conferences and do some shopping.

It's also a time for people to catch up with family and friends. "Everybody meets here," said one attendee.

As far as the tournament itself, there's an art show, boxing, a language bowl, wrestling, hand games and other entertainment.
