WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2002 "Are Indians being taken advantage of by investors? William Safire thinks so. But by law, tribes must receive the bulk of gambling revenue. Contrary to his suggestion, Indian gambling is well regulated. Tribes spend $212 million a year on regulation. Tribal regulators, 2,800 in number, are law enforcement officers and professionals, like former F.B.I. agents and state regulators. . ." Get the Story:
