Calif. tribe reaches deal with county

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2002 The Maidu Tribe of California and a local county have reached an agreement over a proposed casino. Under the deal, Yuba County will receive $73 million for 16 years. In exchange, the county will support the tribe's 40-acre land-into-trust application. The deal still has to be formally approved. A vote by the county supervisors is set for December 17.
