Panel discusses Supreme Court cases

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2002 A group of Indian law experts met last week to discuss the Supreme Court's oral arguments in two breach of trust cases. The White Mountain Apache Tribe of Arizona and the Navajo Nation both claim the federal government breached its fiduciary responsibilities. But the panel experts said they were surprised that the Court was more receptive to the Apache case, given the incredible conduct of government officials in the Navajo one. Get the Story:
