TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2002

Connecticut lawmakers held a hearing on Tuesday to discuss repealing a law that paved the way for tribal casinos.

Republican lawmakers and Democratic attorney general Richard Blumenthal oppose the spread of Indian gaming. They say revoking the "Las Vegas Nights" law will stop future tribes from opening more casinos.

An effort to repeal failed this year but the issue may be put on the agenda during the Legislature's special session, the Associated Press reports.
