Obituary: Ayers Catawba potter

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2002 Sarah Ayers, a traditional Catawba potter, died on Monday in South Carolina. She was 83. Ayers work was nationally recognized. She was named American Indian Artist of the Year in 1980 by the Kennedy Center. She was also South Carolina's Native American Artist of the Year. Get the Story:
