A member of the Lumbee Tribe competing at the Miss World pageant headed to London along with dozens of other contestants after deadly riots broke out in Nigeria.

Rebekah Revels is representing the U.S. at the competition. She was to have participated in the Miss USA pageant but was stripped of her North Carolina state title in a scandal over topless photos.

At least 100 have been reported dead in northern Nigeria. Riots broke out after a newspaper made a comment about the pageant and Muslim prophet Mohammed.
