WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2002

The Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota no longer operates a concession shop at Badlands National Park.

The tribe withdrew from its contract with the National Park Service this summer. A park superintendent said the tribe might be focusing on planning for the Lakota Heritage and Education Center, scheduled to be opened in 2004.

An auction of leftover inventory will be held on Saturday.
