THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2002

Secretary of Interior Gale Norton on Monday sent out her decision letter on the Seneca Nation gaming compact with the state of New York.

Norton neither approved nor denied the agreement. Under federal law, it is considered "deemed approved."

The reason centered on revenue sharing with the state, said Norton in the letter. She expressed concerns about the impact on other tribes in the region.
