McCaleb honors last Okla. allottees

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2002

The Bureau of Indian Affairs on Wednesday honored the last surviving Oklahoma tribal members who received original land allotments.

A total of nine from the Kiowa, Comanche and Fort Sill-Apache tribes were recognized by Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb. The group received land between 1901 to 1918.
