The Wisconsin-based Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans has acquired 125 acres of land in central New York, its aboriginal territory.

The tribe believes the land is considered Indian Country because it was part of a former reservation. The tribe is separately pursuing land in the Catskills for a casino.
