TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2002 Alaska Native students in Juneau are taking part in a program aimed at increasing high school graduation and college enrollment rates. About 30 students in grades nine to 12 are invited to be in the Early Scholars program. The Juneau-Douglas High School students attend a special class where they learn about history, government and Tlingit culture. They also spend one class at week at the University of Alaska Southeast in order to become accustomed to the college environment. Get the Story:
