DOI still mailing 'accounting' statements

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2002 The Department of Interior continues to mail out statements purported to represent an historical accounting of a tribal judgment fund despite a court hearing on the issue set for tomorrow. The Office of Historical Trust Accounting sent 560 notices earlier this month without seeking court approval. Two additional mailings are planned, The Arizona Republic reported. U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth will hear the dispute at a hearing in federal district court in Washington, D.C. Get the Story:
