WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2002

The Department of Justice on Tuesday filed its notice of appeal in the Kennewick Man case.

The Bush administration waited until the last day to file. Government attorneys plan to follow similar challenges raised by tribes who are also appealing a decision to allow scientists to study the bones of the 9,000-year-old man.
