A cow was spotted in Yellowstone National Park but got away before anyone could haze it, test it for a deadly cattle disease and slaughter it.

Bison that wander out of the park's boundaries and into Montana face such a fate under a federal-state management plan. The agreement aims to prevent the transfer of brucellosis from bison to cattle.
