Inupiat village hit with salmonella

State health officials in Alaska have confirmed an outbreak of salmonella in the Inupiat village of Elim.

More than 20 people have tested positive, The Anchorage Daily News reports. The source of the outbreak has not been found.

Salmonella is spread a variety of ways. It typically causes fever, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
