TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2002 Nearly 200 Indian youth took part in the first Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Youth Summit last week. The summit was called by Pueblo leaders in response to growing use of alcohol and drugs among young tribal members. Teens said they needed more activities to draw them away from substance abuse. The eight Pueblo tribes of northern New Mexico plan to study the impact of the summit and make it an annual event. Get the Story:
