Okla. tribe's king disputes removal

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2002 The Thlopthlocco Tribal Town swore in a new mekko, or king, on Monday. But the old king, Hazel Anita "Grace" Bunner, said her removal was illegal. She said she is innocent of charges she misused tribal funds. She also said the Bureau of Indian Affairs continues to recognize her as the rightful leader. Get the Story:
