Wash. tribes poised to keep slot monopoly

Key lawmakers in Washington don't think an attempt to expand slot machines beyond Indian casinos will be successful.

Tribes signed casino compacts with Gov. Gary Locke (D) and said they were promised exclusivity on slots. Non-Indian business interests contend this is unfair.
