N.Y. museum returns remains to Haida

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2002 The American Museum of Natural History in New York returned 48 Haida ancestors to the Haida First Nation of British Columbia, Canada. The repatriation was the second involving a U.S. institution and Haida remains, according to The New York Times. Last week, a California museum became the first by handing over one tribal ancestor.
