Navajo voters ready for the polls

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2002 The Navajo Nation holds primary elections for president tomorrow. Urban tribal members are urging their counterparts to get out and participate. The Phoenix Indian Center and others are trying to register 24,000 off-reservation Navajos. Historically, off-reservation voting has been low, with less than 3,300 out of 95,000 registered living off-reservation. Get the Story:
