Wash. tribe gets key development permit

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2002 The Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a wetlands permit to the Muckleshoot Tribe of Washington. The permit allows the tribe to move forward with a controversial development project. Local groups oppose a 20,000-seate amphitheater they say will hurt the environment and bring traffic and noise. With the permit, the tribe will finalize construction. Events are planned next summer. Get the Story:
