Lummi healing pole makes final stop

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2002 Members of the Lummi Nation of Washington finished their cross-country journey in honor of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The group brought with them a 13-foot healing pole carved out of cedar. They stopped at a number of reservations and other locations where the pole was blessed. The healing pole's final resting place is a state park in New York, where a ceremony on Saturday was held to remember the children who died in the tragedy. Get the Story:
