The Supreme Court has scheduled oral arguments for three Alaska Native companies seeking to protect their wireless telecommunications investment.

The Court will hear the dispute on October 8. Doyon Ltd., Arctic Slope Regional Corporation and Sealaska Corporation are siding with the Federal Communications Commission.

A joint venture of the corporations and AT&T Wireless purchased $2.9 billion in wireless licenses during an FCC auction. But an appeals court said they rightfully belong to NextWave Communications.
