An Oklahoma House committee discussed Indian casinos on Tuesday.

State Rep. Wayne Pettigrew, a Republican from Edmond, wants to collect taxes from tribes. He said the state is losing out on at least $50 million every year.

John Barrett, chairman of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, countered that tribes contribute $329 million a year to the economy. He also said the state and the tribes should work together.
