New IHS chief promotes consultation

Dr. Charles Grim, the interim director of the Indian Health Service, says the agency will continue to focus on consultation with tribes and delivery of services.

Grim also said IHS will support greater contracting of services through tribal self-determination contracts. About one half of the agency's $2.8 billion annual budget is administered by tribes.
