Native corp sells land to feds

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2002 An Alaska Native village corporation has sold 4,247 acres of land to the federal government. Point Possession Incorporated had selected the land under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971. The corporation sold for $3.3 million. The sale will prevent the land from being developed. The land will become part of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Get the Story:
