Two factions of the historical Eastern Pequot Tribe of Connecticut met with Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb last week.

Although representatives of the groups had different views on the meeting, they both said they updated McCaleb on their efforts to cooperate on a future tribal government. McCaleb recognized the factions as one historic tribe.

The tribes proposed ideas for a governing body, according to The New London Day. They plan to finalize a constitution by October of November.
