Changes for church near Cochise burial

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2002 A Greek monastery has changed plans to build a church near the Arizona burial site of Apache leader Cochise. The monks won't built the church on top of a 120-foot hill. They also agreed to try to blend the building into the natural surroundings. The Fort Sill Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, whose members are descendants of Cochise, said they are satisfied with the changes. The tribe owns four acres of land within Cochise's burial site.
