Neb. farmers oppose tribe's authority

MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2002 The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska is drawing opposition for its plans to end crop-dusting on its reservation. The tribe has been working with the Environmental Protection Agency to come up with regulations to exercise authority and protect the health of tribal members. But non-Indian farmers, who own or lease 75 percent of the reservation, say they won't answer to a government that doesn't represent them. Get the Story:
