Pueblo tribes take in $100M on slots

New Mexico Pueblos took in $100.5 million in slot machine revenues during the second quarter of 2002.

Of the amount, 60 percent was generated by four tribes closes to Albuquerque, the largest city in the state. Sandia, Isleta, Acoma and Santa Ana Pueblos took in a total of $71.6 million.

Gaming compacts the tribes signed require as much as 8 percent of their individual slot machine revenues to be shared with the state. The second quarter fee was about $8 million.
