Tribal member kicks off Senate campaign

TUESDAY, AUGUST 6, 2002 Oglala Lakota tribal member Ed McGaa officially kicked off his U.S. Senate campaign on Monday. McGaa is endorsed by the Minnesota State Green Party but faces internal challenges by some who think he can't win by going up against Sen. Paul Wellstone, a Democrat with environmental credentials. McGaa says he is in it to win it and says he will focus on the veteran vote. Get the Story:
