FRIDAY, AUGUST 2, 2002

Connecticut Citizens Against Casinos, an anti-casino group, is asking citizens to tell their government representatives to say no to tribal casinos.

The group is concerned that the Nipmuc Nation in nearby Massachusetts will establish a casino, even though Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb has denied the tribe recognition. The Eastern Pequot Tribe, which has gained final status, is another worry for the residents.

There are two tribally-owned casinos in Connecticut.
