Police detectives sue Pequot tribe

THURSDAY, JULY 25, 2002 Two police detectives are suing the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut for alleged libel. The detectives also say the tribe singled them out for prosecution because they claim they were uncovering corruption and crimes at the Pequot casino. The men were transferred in 1996, which they say was politically-motivated. The case is being heard in the tribe's court system but the detectives want it moved to state court. Get the Story:
