A South Dakota judge on Monday returned custody of a 5-year-old Native American boy to his mother.

Sally Barakat plans to take Trevor to Egypt to live with her new husband. Barakat's father, Conrad Rederth and his wife, Julie Rederth, had gotten temporary custody, citing her conversion to Islam.

Rederth said he wanted his grandson to be exposed to his Indian heritage.
