Work has begun on the $1.5 million Sacagawea Interpretive and Education Center in Salmon, Idaho.

The center will serve as an educational center for the woman who helped explorers Lewis and Clark on their journey to the Pacific Northwest. Sacagawea's tribe, the Lemhi Shoshone, will also be featured.
