Men plead guilty for racial incident

FRIDAY, JULY 19, 2002 Three white men on Wednesday pleaded guilty for taking part in a racially-motivated shooting incident targeting the Klamath Tribes of Oregon. George Curry, Richard Sharp and Adam Lee drove through a town where tribal offices are located, carrying signs and shouting racially-biased remarks. The incident came at a time when Indian and non-Indian relations were tense due to concerns over water. The men must apologize, perform community service, undergo alcohol evaluations, pay fines and restitution and enter cultural sensitivity training. Get the Story:
