The Sioux Falls Argus Leader in an editorial today criticizes the state of South Dakota and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for "badly" handling a burial site.

The paper cites an ongoing court case brought by the Yankton Sioux Tribe and tribal members. A federal judge halted construction at a site near the Missouri River in response to the failure of the state and Corps to consult with the tribe properly.

The paper says U.S. District Judge Lawrence Piersol has paved the way for a solution to because he recommended mediation between the parties.
