The lead plaintiff in the billion dollar trust fund lawsuit rallied with tribal leaders yesterday to support independent oversight of Indian assets.

Elouise Cobell has asked a federal judge to appoint a receiver, or independent officer, to watch over the funds of 300,000 American Indians. A ruling on the request is expected after U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth issues his finding on the Bush administration's contempt trial.
