Accident mars sobriety gathering

The Copper River Native Sobriety Celebration was held during the Memorial Day weekend late last month, an event organized to combat alcoholism among Alaska Natives.

The gathering was organized by Marilyn and Wilbur Joe, who lost their daughter in an alcohol-related crash. Some of those memories were relived when attendees were involved an accident that police saw also involved alcohol.

The driver and one passenger were injured according to The Anchorage Daily News. Three others received minor scrapes.
