Navajo families to get power

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12, 2002 An effort to bring electricity to 111 homes on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico kicked off this week. The Navajo Nation was awarded a $2.8 million grant to bring power to the Shiprock area. The goal is to finalize work by September 13. Throughout the reservation, an estimated 18,000 homes are without electricity. A total of $15 million over five year period will be provided. Get the Story:
