A dispute over land in rural Mexico left 26 men dead during a Friday evening massacre.

The federal government ruled that Santiago Xochiltepec, a Zapotec Indian village, has rights to the land in question. Rivals also claim the land.

The men from Xochiltepec were buried yesterday.

Law enforcement authorities have arrested 16 in connection with the killings.
