FRIDAY, MAY 31, 2002

The public can now view a bronze statue of an Indian warrior that will go on top of Oklahoma's state capitol building.

The 22-foot statue, called "The Guardian," was designed by state Sen. Kelly Haney, a member of the Seminole Nation. When it is placed on the dome, Oklahoma will be the first state to have an Indian-themed statue.

Viewing begins tomorrow and runs until June 6. The raising ceremony is June 7.
